This is a summary of my education and experience that has brought me into the present to work with my clients interactively. I believe that everyone has the ability to heal and grow towards achieving a satisfactory life.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Graduated in Psychology, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. 1989.

  • Specialization in Brief Therapy at M.R.I. (Mental Research Institute), Palo Alto, California. 1992-1994: Monthly Residency Program 7 - 8/1992; Brief Therapy Intensive and several workshops 9/93 - 6/94.

 

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUMS:

  • Brief Therapy. Family Intervention. M.R.I. 1991.

  • Brief and Narrative Therapy. M.R.I. 1992.

  • The Global Reach of Brief Therapy. Conducted a presentation: ¨The M.R.I. approach to multiproblem families.¨ Brief Therapy Center. Viena, Austria. 1996.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Educator:

  • Worked with children with emotional and behavioral problems. London, UK. 1991-1993.

  • Worked with delinquent teenagers including alternative judicial outdoors measures, and work with their families.
    Social Services Bureau. Madrid, Spain. 1994-1995 and 1997.

Psychotherapist:

  • Treating a variety of cases: individual concerns (depression, anxiety, eating disorders, phobias, and substance abuse) and family matters (couples, difficult teenagers). Brief Therapy Center, Barcelona. 1995-1996. Madrid. 1996-1999.

  • Working with HIV-positive Latino clients. Instituto Familiar de la Raza. San Francisco, California. 1999-2001.

  • Working with teenagers and young adults with substance abuse problems. Berkeley High School, California. 2001-2002.

  • School setting: treating children and their families. Bay Area Community Resources, California. 2002-2005.

  • Private practice since 2005 in Madrid. Currently, private practice online. I treat individual concerns: cross-cultural adjustments, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, phobias, substance abuse, etc. as well as couples and family matters: difficult teenagers, etc.
